The language and identity of a given people are related. We can say that translation assumes a specific character for every nation. Certainly, translation has played in the past a very important role in the shaping of many cultures. Thus, translation displays its will and necessity to be a thorough science and find its position without losing its link with literature, languages and intercultural and interlinguistic interchange.
Considering the closeness that nations witnessed, people and cultures, and taking into consideration that the world is reduced to a human community particularly complicated, translation becomes particularly a communicative process between civilizations, cultures and societies.
Nevertheless, translation exposes today major problems. Yet, numerous theorists in all over the world have attempted to discuss these problems and translation activity.But translation becomes a difficult task when we tackle the issue of literary translation, notably when it deals with distant and different languages, historically and culturally , as the case of the Arabic and French languages, each of them are from
descend from different linguistic system and an irreducible linguistic family.
Translation has an enviable situation in Algeria and we have noticed the importance that the Algerian responsible confers to it at the time of the Algerian Cultural Year in France and the Arab Cultural Year in Algeria.
