Résumé:
Upon verification of the lack of scientific work that exists on agricultural insurance in Algeria, we considered it appropriate to examine the role played by the Agricultural Insurance Bank of Algeria in the current pace of agricultural development, within the framework of a research project on its contribution to sustainable rural development. With the opening of Algeria onto the world economy in 2010, the CRMA, with its national and regional branches, runs the risk of being affected by various changes and even be out-competed by rival companies in the insurance market if they do not address their
shortcomings in the near future. This modest work concentrated on the Regional Branch of the Wilaya of Constantine (CRMA), taking it as a case study to determine its contribution to the sustainable agricultural development of this ever-changing rural environment. Our study was carried out in three stages; the first was a phase of bibliographical research together with an inventory elaborated with the purpose of clarifying some ambiguities. The second stage consisted of a diagnosis, to study, classify, and examine all the data
found for subsequent analysis with specific tools. Consequently, the last stage consisted of the elaboration of a small survey in situto determine customer satisfaction in the twelve municipalities of the Wilaya of Constantine, in
order to explore the current situation. And the elaboration of the alternatives and the proposal of solutions to correct the weaknesses detected.
