Abstract

In the light of the discourse analysis, Translation is nowadays considered the crossroad of many disciplines like psychology, philosophy and anthropology. Contemporary research in field of translation studies have ignored the old preoccupations based only on the dichotomy of literal translation and free translation in order to pass other translational fields of interest like communication, pragmatics and the translation’s function. Our research focuses essentially on the study of one of the translational approaches interested in the language function in discourse as a notion which linguists and specialists in translation neglected a long time ago. Functional approach is the first to open such discussion. It involves many theories as; the theory of text typology (by Katharina Reiss); the theory of translational act named after (Justa Holtz Mantari); and the Skopos theory (the subject of the present research) which was established by the German Hans J. Vermeer. Most of readers wonder, why we choosed Skopos theory?
