Abstract:
Translation training as an autonomous speciality is relatively “recent”, the fact that incites researchers to multiply studies aiming at finding the most appropriate training methods in the context of a new branch named“ translation didactics”. Simultaneously, the theoretical aspect of translation has known a quantum leap in matter of theories and approaches that have tackled the translational phenomenon from all its angles adopting a terminological, methodological and dialectical panoply. In fact, these theoretical efforts have not
found their wright way to translation didactics in its practical part.
We tried in this research entitled” Translational Theorisation and
translation didactics: between dialectic proposals and practical constrains” to explore the interdependence between translation theory and translation didactics in an Algerian academic context, and to propose three training methods based on theory for application on Algerian translation students. After having exposed briefly the translational thinking from a theoretical point of view, as well as the
major didactical issues in translation, then the interdependence between translation theory and translation didactics, we adopted the questionnaire as a research means in the first practical part of the thesis. After a quantitative analysis, the hypothesis have been confirmed. In a second practical part, we tried to apply three procedural modals of translation training methods on Constantine University translation students. The common point of these modals is their theoretical background. The aim is not to prove their efficiency or adequacy, but to attract attention of the possibility of
systemizing the translation practical course basing on theoretical efforts.
