In this manuscript we are interested in the development of multi-component reactions by
studying the catalytic power of new catalysts on some of them: the Hantzsch reaction and
synthesis of tetrahydrobenzo [b ] pyrans.
In the first part we studied the effect of three catalysts, which are bismuth triflate,
2,6-diaminopyridine and piperazine on the Hantzsch reaction to access to the
polyhydroquinolein derivatives with good yields.
In the second part our research helped to develop a new path to the
tetrahydro[b]benzopyrans, another class of heterocycles with very interesting biological and
medicinal properties, using a Lewis acid as catalyst which is phenylboronic acid which has
the advantage of being non-toxic, low-cost and easily work-up. The obtained yields are good
to excellent.
