Abstract

Tourism is an old economic and social phenomenon that has become known as the 21st century industry for its rapid growth and its revenues for tourism countries. Today, countries are competing to attract the largest number of tourists and are looking for solid strategies to develop their tourism sector. Algeria is one of the countries with great environmental and cultural richness, but it has not been able to exploit it in the best way. It remains absent from the world tourist markets and today it is unknown to many international tourists. The Eastern Coast Region is a small picture of Algerian tourism. We tried to study it and analyze the reality of tourism, its advantages and disadvantages, and concluded some suggestions that will contribute to the development of this vital sector. Today, it’s time to consider tourism as a promising economic sector and to take advantage of all the possibilities to raise Algeria to the rank of a major tourist country
