dc.description.abstract The combination of the solar energy with a high fuel conversion cycle is one of the major advantages of hybrid concentrating solar systems compared to other solar power plants. This thesis seeks the design and the development of a thermodynamic model of the innovative concept of a solar gas turbine tower power plant using a closed volumetric receiver with an electric capacity equal to 11.5MWe, then we assess the potential to improve the performances of the installation by adding a combined steam cycle with electrical production equal to 3.5 MWe. The Simulation and modelling study of the installation will be done initially by calculating the matrix of effectiveness of the solar fields’ (Monte Carlo method), then we proceed to the numerical simulation of the different components of the installation by the TRNSYS 16 software. The main objective of the present study is to prove the advantage of adding a combined steam cycle in the solar gas turbine systems by an energetic and exergetic analysis for the climatic conditions of Béchar area, and assess the economic feasibility of the installation by the estimation of the Levelized electric cost (LEC).
