Abstract:
The aim of this work is to study the integration of solar air conditioning solutions to Algerian climates and to assess economic and environmental benefits.
To do this we have made a dynamic simulation two solar conditioning systems that are absorption system and dessiccant system, the simulation have been done under TRNSYS environment, it has given us the possibility to operate with weather data files for the cities of Algiers, Constantine, et Bechar respectively corresponding to a hot and humid climate, a moderated climate, and a hot and dry climate. And since that the proposition of the aims to replace conventional installations with vapor compression, we have simulated one of them which is a vapor compression chiller.
The coupling of the studied systems has been made with an office building occupied from 8am to 5 pm to generate thermal loads to be overcome.
The obtained results have been presented under a monthly form for the duration of conditioning period for each city with an example for daily profile for each solar system, we have also studied every system/climate coupling compatibility and made conclusions, finally we have made the assessment of the energy cost for each system and also the impact on environment by defining CO2 saved quantities by using each system
