dc.description.abstract The evolution of smart cities in recent years has been characterized by the integration of key technologies, including IoT, autoadaptive systems, sustainability practices, and AI-driven prediction models. Understanding and leveraging these technologies are paramount for the sustainable development of smart cities. As urban environments grow in complexity, he primary objective is to expedite the shift towards environmental sustainability in smart cities, enhancing energy efficiency, transportation systems, waste management, and building systems. This paper examines risk factors as well as the trends shaping smart cities. We hope that this work helps extend the existing knowledge base on smart cities and provide insights for policymakers, urban planners, and researchers interested in enhancing the sustainability, resilience, and inclusivity of urban environments fr_FR
