dc.description.abstract The present work aims to study the interactions between urban forms and forms of mobility in the Constantine grouping. Through a theoretical approach based on a synthesis of research works related to the theme, and according to the fieldwork supported by a diagnosis on transport and a direct survey conducted with users of public transport in the study area, it turns out that the current urban morphology of the cluster is the result of the process of urbanisation of Constantine accentuated by residential mobility following the various operations of population transfer from the mother city to its peri-urban ring. Moreover, the results also reveal that the fragmented and polynuclear form of Constantine, which includes all the agglomerations of the group, generates mobility and displacement. It is responsible for the forms, practices and mobility behaviour of its inhabitants. Furthermore, the quantitative approach adopted in order to analyse travel flows in the study area shows that the mobility generated between Constantine and its peri-urban ring for desired or imposed motivations, and whether it is frequent or exceptional, makes it possible to link the different parts of the fragmented form of the Constantine metropolis, thus affirming that it is a single urban entity corresponding perfectly to the definition of the urban area. However, these results suggest that the local authorities should take good charge of this mobility through an action plan ensuring good coordination between the triptych urbanisation, transport and mobility. In this context, it is important to adopt innovative tools such as geographic information systems (GIS) and geomatics as well as new information and communication technologies (NICT) in the management of transport and mobility. It also requires a revision of the various transport and development plans on the basis of a good articulation between national transport and land use policies. Furthermore, this work opens up several research perspectives on urban mobility in general, on the study of mobility in relation to metropolisation, on the analysis of mobility behaviour and practices by socioprofessional categories, on the governance of mobility and on other themes that may interest researchers and enrich scientific research in Algeria. fr_FR
