Résumé:
The issue of environmental protection mechanisms against urbanization risks is
addressed in Algerian legislation, and it deals with the concept of the relationship between the
environment and urbanization in terms of legal mechanisms that provide a balance between
the demands of urban development on one hand, and environmental protection requirements
on the other. To that end, the Algerian legislator has approved a preventive environmental
protection against the various risks of urban expansion, which has been entrusted to the
environment administration in its various central and local bodies, through the various legal
means available to achieve this protection. In addition, we should highlight the deterrent
protection provided by the administration and judicial power, both ordinary and
administrative.
