Résumé:
This desertation deals with the topic of the digital library in
Algeria, its current situation and its prospects.
Considering the most distinguished from the revolution of
current time on the communications and information, the subject
was started by the assessment of some projects in progress in the
field in Algeria, with an attempt to explore them and know their
degree of application of the standards of operation.
The studies tackled the subject precisely by a definition of the
digital term of library in order to distinguish it from the very
widespread amalgam with other terms; a determination of the
requirements and need necessary to creation for a digital library;
identification of different operations from digitalization and their
standards of use, as well as a brief talk of the important projects of
world fame in order to deduce their distinction general.
This was followed of a talk of the two existing projects in
Algeria , concerning the project of digital library of the Islamic
university of Emir Abd El Kader in Constantine ,and the project of
the virtual library of social and human sciences, with the
exploration of their situation, their progress report, their problems,
and the obstacles which they meet, like their future prospects. All
this in order to know the importance attached to this subject in our
country.
