Résumé:
What happens over the past few years in terms of management and
electronic processing of documents - written, audio and visual -
demonstrates that new lands for the use of information technology,
computing and telecommunications are developing.
Virtual Library, electronic library, digital or scanned library, a lot of
names to designate the library of tomorrow, as an alternative to the
material library. The development of new technologies in university
libraries does not cover an alternative between the library and the
intangible material library but rather the need to adapt the university to a
new medium and new products. Information technologies still to need to
be structured and controlled in universities. In this new context, librarians
of higher education have a responsibility to create and provide students
and teachers with an effective management of information.
The university library presents itself as a bridge between what it was,
what it is now with the emergence of the information society, and what it
will be once exceeded Digital upheavals affecting education in all its
forms.
Teachers and students still constitute the preferred public of the
university library and its professionals who bring at present new
information behavior.
Seeing the importance of digital libraries which constitute a new trend
for university libraries in the world in general, and Algeria in particular,
this research project focuses on the digital library of the university of
Emir Abdelkader Constantine launched in recent years while trying to
make an assessment of what has been achieved and to measure the impact
of this project on users and its role in the development of scientific
research.
