This work is devoted to the phytochemical and pharmacological study of two species, one belonging to the genus Pistacia of the family Anacardiaceae and the other to the genus Salvia of the family Lamiaceae. The two studied species Salvia microphylla and Pistacia atlantica subsp. atlantica have been little studied from the phytochemical point of view in Algeria. The objective of this work is the isolation and determination of the strcutures of the isolated compounds from the various extracts, as well as the in vitro evaluation of the antioxidant activity, the anticholinesterase properties and the antiproliferative activity against human cancer cells HeLa of the extracts from the species Pistacia atlantica subsp atlantica. Various chromatographic separation methods allowed for the isolation of:
Thirteen compounds of ethyl acetate and methanol extracts of Pistacia atlantica subsp. atlantica, of which 10 were identified, this number was reduced to 7 since several products were identical, two of these were described for the first time for this species and two for the first time in the genus Pistacia:
Loliolide (New for the genus Pistacia)
Daucostérol (New for the genus Pistacia)
β-sitosterol (New for the species)
β-amyrenone (3-ceto-olean-12-ene or olean-12-ene-3-one).
Methyl gallate
Masticienonic acid
Stigmasterol mixed with β-sitosterol (New for the species).
Twenty-two compounds of Salvia microphylla of which 8 were identified, this number was reduced to 7 since two products were identical, one of these was described for the first time in the genus Salvia and the other six products were described for the first time for this species:
Daucostérol (New for the genus Salvia)
Scutelarein-7,4'-dimethylether (new to the species)
Cirsiliol (new to the species)
Oresbuchin A (new for the species)
Rosmarinic acid (new for the species)
Methyl rosmarinate (new for the species)
Hesperidin (new for the species) |
