dc.description.abstract The aim of this thesis is to synthesize new coordination complexes based on copper (II) and cobalt (II) in order to determine the different physical properties such as spectroscopy (IR,UV-vis),thermal study (ATG, DSC) and magnetic measurements. We have defined a preference for benzylimidazole as a ligand by using their coordination site to develop mononuclear complexes. The latter are synthesized by the aqueous route, structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction and have different geometries of the metal centers. The use of the benzylimidazole ligand possessing a potential coordination site and the different modes of carboxylate anion coordination with different transition metals, as well as the variation of the experimental conditions, allowed us to develop new complexes including two coordination polymers. The crystalline cohesion of these materials is stabilized by hydrogen bonds and non-covalent interactions
