Abstract:
Managerial thought has witnessed over the centuries many of the
developments that were mostly inevitable result of attempts to reconcile
the objectives of the internal situation of the institution and the
conditions of external environment, which is known as many of the
other shifts and changes as the character without the stability and the
intensification of concurrence which lead institutions to search for new
sources ensure their survival, continuity and progress, to gain a
prominent place in local and international markets alike, which will
ensure them a competitive advantage.
Sonatrach company has recognized along the lines of other major
international companies that, the only element which will achieve it
that advantage is knowledge inexhaustible resource, and the best
alternative from the rest of other resources, and since knowledge is the
result of human mind and the maker of it, the interest of Sonatrach
Company about knowledge has not stopped there , but it goes further to
take care of the individual ( maker of knowledge)not as an
absolute value but as a product of intellectual knowledge, experience
and skills, which has had a significant excess of the credit of
Sonatrach and its ranking among the first major international oil
companies.
So the rest of the Algerian institutions of any kind, size and nature
must take the same path as Sonatrach company and move their
attention from their competences as a strategic source to an interest of
it as a source of knowledge through knowledge management and
investigate these competencies to achieve progress and development in
all areas.
