Abstract

Distributed Video Coding (DVC) has become a very interesting field of research, because of its simplicity and promising results, but there are still many problems waiting to be solved. In this thesis, we focus our study on the Application of DVC on periodic video sequences. We will introduce a new way of side information creation, suited for this type of video sequences. This solution is very simple unlike other techniques used in state of the art for side information creation such as interpolation and extrapolation, which are very complex because they are based on motion estimation. The obtained results show that although this technique is very simple, but it remains very effective.
