This work was carried out on 89 autochthonous varieties of date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) in the oasis of the Zibans region (Biskra) for three consecutive years (2010 to 2012) and was dedicated to the study of the most distinctive varieties in term of phenotypic criterion. Trough some statistical tools (PCA and FAC), we identified the discriminating characteristics and / or similar between the different genotypes. Particular attention was paid to the presence, location and distribution of these varieties in the vast region of Ziban related to the environment of this area.
The results showed an efficiency of the morphological characters (quantitative and qualitative) of fruits and leaves by highlighting the differences and similarities in genetic patrimony.
A very large varietal diversity was found in the oasis of Sidi Okba and Tolga, almost all of that phytogenetic potential is in adequacy with the specific bioclimatic conditions of the region. |
