Abstract

This study aims to promote the many benefits of printed and electronic paper, and its role in the formation of the university student, but also targets the knowledge of different types, forms, benefits and services that can provide the library university to meet the needs of students as information quality to study or to make their presentations and science projects and grow, so it refers to the interest of university libraries by making a budget for an acquisition of information sources, periodicals, databases and connect computers to the Internet. The results are obtained based on a field survey and data analysis, interpretations and comments, we noticed a growing interest for the student academic books, periodicals, dissertations, theses and use of the computer and Internet in his studies and science projects, and even if the use of paper remains the most important. The facts presented in this work are the result of the study in the libraries of the faculties of humanities and social sciences, engineering, sciences, humanities and languages, economics and management, law and political science. The results showed that the student is facing many difficulties in his search for documentation, regardless of its type, paper or electronic, and it inhibits its tendency to read and deprives more than able to make the library and the Internet, because of his ignorance of recovery tools that are at the library as well as that of the research data. Despite the services provided by the university library, does that they are below the level required to meet the requirements of the student. We conclude this study by proposing that we think may give more consideration to one side to the sources of information as well as its diversity, and another side to the initiation of students to use it, and motivate to consult with more regularity in order to better exploit in the studies, research and Job.
