Abstract

The aim of this study is to highlight one important face of inimitability in the Quranic discourse. Alkhatabi is considered as the first one to mention it under the name of “Its Effect in the Hearts,” this is despite the fact that some have pointed to it before and after him, but they did not give it its due right of study. Thus, the present study attempts to explain this face of inimitability, and to follow what ancient and modern scholars of the Quranic discourse have said about it. It also attempts to show its contents and mechanisms, by presenting practical examples for multiple models from the Koran.The main aim of this study is to answer a set of important questions, including:

- If the Koran has descended in a language which is a language of Arabs, who are imams and who have received it with dazzle, boggle and predominance; What is the secret of that dazzle, and this predominance, and that boggle?

- What are the mechanisms that the Quranic discourse has reclined upon in its psychological impact on recipients? Can we consider this side as an independent face of the faces of inimitability? Is it specific to Arabs or does it extend to include others? Is its time limited to the period of its descend, or does it extend across all time?

- How could the Quranic discourse meet the need of the human soul, and express it till it surrenders to its content?

- What is the role of rhetoric in highlighting what is in the souls?

- If the Quran makes the artistic beauty an intended tool to influence the emotional sense of conscience and addresses the emotional sense of religion in the 5
