dc.description.abstract Regional protection of human rights has developed very significantly, especially after the Second World War, and this is reflected in the many conventions adopted, including the European Convention on Human Rights of 1950, The 1969 American Convention on Human Rights, the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights of 1981 and the Arab Charter of Human Rights of 2004. These Conventions establish protective mechanisms for the rights and freedoms set forth, which are manifested in the form of regional commissions and courts, which are control, monitoring and protection bodies, based on its quasi-judicial and jurisdictional work. Among the main regional mechanisms on the international scene, the European Court of Human Rights, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, the Commission and the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights. These mechanisms have undergone major reforms, either at the level of its organs or the rights of individuals, which have occupied an important place before these courts, especially before the European Court of Human Rights
