Abstract:
Three new Schiff bases derived from DHA and substituted aniline have been synthesized. Their structures were principally determined by crystallography and IR spectroscopy. The electrochemical study of these compounds was realized by cyclic Voltammetry. The evaluation of the protective power of this series of organic compounds towards the corrosion of carbon steel X48 in acid medium has been done by electrochemical methods: stationary and transitory. Another application of these compounds is destined to their use in the catalysis of an oxidation reaction of catechol in O-quinone in presence of air oxygen.
