Abstract:
The genus Achillea is one of the most important genera in the Asteraceae family, which
includes about 130 species around the world. It is mainly perennial herbaceous, which grows
mainly in Europe and temperate areas of Asia and a few in North America. We report here,
the antioxidant activity of Achillea species using tree complementary methods (DPPH∙ radical
scavenging, ABTS∙+ and Phenanthroline activity). While, the total phenolic content was
determined by the Folin–Ciocalteu method with gallic acid as a standard. The results showed
that the studied plant presents a good antioxidant potential due to their richness in
polyphenols
