Audiovisual translation is one of the most common strategies used nowadays to make audiovisual programs accessible to larger audiences, yet a number of problematic issues remain to be addressed. The most important difficulty is the polysemiotic aspect of audiovisual texts which acquire meaning through the use of words, gestures, facial expressions, sounds, music and images.&#13;
The present study aims, through the analysis of “The Last Samurai” subtitled and dubbed versions into Arabic, at enabling translators to make ample use of semiotics principles so as to read all the productive signs of signification, interpret and translate them correctly into the target language.

The topic of teaching translation as a tool for teaching and learning foreign languages is one of the topics of concern to many specialists in foreign language education. Most of them are familiar with the curricula that have alternated in teaching foreign languages and what the status of translation has become during those stages. The subject of our study aims to answer a range of questions such as: What is the position and role of the translation subject in foreign language departments' programs? Is it taught as a target in itself? Or as a way of learning the language? What methods, approaches and exercises are best suited to teach it? What language and translation competencies are a bachelor's course supposed to develop for English students in particular? Based on the descriptive-evaluative approach, we have analyzed questionnaires addressed to students and professors, as well as mistakes made by students during the translation exam from Arabic to English. It shows us how important the translation course is in language learning, and how effective the process of classifying and analyzing errors is in the process of detecting the learner's linguistic and translation weaknesses. In addition to the possibility of visualizing a proposal that includes the most important applications and exercises that can be programmed in the translation module of the English Department, so that it becomes purposeful and accurate, aiming to build specific competencies in language and translation.

The present study aims at investigating the translation of dialogism in the postcolonial novel through a comparative analytical study of four novels written in Arabic and French. The Arabic corpus is inclusive of: Mawsim Alhijra Ila Shamal –Saison de la migration vers le nord- written by the Sudanese writer Al-Tayeb Salih and translated into French by Abd al-Wahhab al-Muadab and Fadi Noun; Chicago, by Egyptian writer Alaa Al-Aswany, translated by Gilles Gauthier. The French corpus consists of two novels as well: Nedjma by the Algerian writer Kateb Yacine, the analysis was based on the latest translation, completed by Said Boutagine; Samarkand by the Franco-Lebanese writer Amin Maalouf, translated into Arabic by Afif Dimashqieh. The crucial importance of Bakhtinian’s dialogism in the postcolonial novel caught our attention. The study consists in an introduction and five chapters. The entry is a founding induction, combining personal perception and the current literary translation act in the postcolonial context. We devoted the first chapter to the Bakhtinian principle, which we adopt as a critical concept and a procedural tool. The second chapter aims to harness the understanding of postcolonial literature in the light of dialogism, as visions, themes, and literary styles of particularity. The third chapter discusses the current theories of translation and the dialogic transfer in the postcolonial context. We stopped by describing and analyzing literary, philosophical, and hermeneutic theories, as well as the essential ideas posed by cultural and postcolonial studies. Furthermore, we attempted to approach translating dialogism and the postcolonial novel in general, regarding the philosophical basis of the Bakhtinian thought. The research moves from analysis to synthesis, so that the latter constitutes a possible path, supported by the practical part, in translating the Bakhtin’s dialogue in its total manifestations, and thus in translating the novelistic faculty. The fourth and fifth chapters dealt with the comparative reading. We analysis grid we adopted is based on the manifestations of the dialogic principle, such as polyphony, hybridity, the dialogic background of the utterance,&#13;
ideological samples, intertextuality, and intentionality. We concluded that translation in the post-colonial context is mainly grounded on effective dialogical understanding, which is determined by the micro and macro structures of dialogism. The translation of the latter cannot be confined to one of the translation theories independently, but&#13;
rather to combine several approaches according to a synthetic vision guided by the elements of the dialogic principle. We believe that the debate between the source and the target must be subject to a dialogue that takes into account the socio-historical context of the utterer. Sometimes the transmission of the original reality does not have an effect on the translation quality, so that it becomes a disposition, and at other times, the ideological current imposes respect for the original in order to achieve understanding. The Bakhtinian dialogic principle serves as an indicative&#13;
background for the establishment of an effective epistemological path in translating and criticizing. This path is not only concerned with one of the translational stages, but also provides the necessary approach and awareness to both the translator and the reader of translations. The constant tension between the dialogic elements guides translation decision-making.

This research, titled ""The Impact of Cultural Heritage on the&#13;
Translation of the Novel, the Trilogy of Mohammed Dib as a&#13;
Model,"" studies the problem of translating cultural heritage as a&#13;
difficult process that evokes many points and questions, at the same&#13;
time.&#13;
In general, the translation of cultural aspects in any literary work&#13;
requires that the translator have a thorough knowledge of the culture&#13;
of the original text, as the local culture does not appear in its smallest&#13;
detail in the dictionaries. Thus, the translator's positon on translation&#13;
is either to domesticate the text and subject it to the target culture, or&#13;
to let its original culture pass the boundaries of the target culture as&#13;
part of foreignization, which makes the source text travel, bearing its&#13;
exoticism as well as its mother culture. It also allows the target reader&#13;
to embrace or at least discover the “Other”, who certainly has a&#13;
rather different worldview.&#13;
Dib's trilogy is charged with aspects of Algerian culture, while it is&#13;
written in the language of the “Other”, the adversary, the enemy: the&#13;
French colonizer. It should be noted that the text of Dib itself can&#13;
be considered as a first translation, because the writer has&#13;
transmitted in French his ideas that come from his original culture.&#13;
In addition, the mind is invaded by questions, since it has been     translated twice, one by Sami al-Darubi, a Syrian translator, and the&#13;
other by Ahmed ben Mohammed Bkelli, an Algerian translator.&#13;
The first thing to notice, then, is that one of them (the two&#13;
translators) has the same culture of origine as the writer, since both&#13;
of them are Algerians. So, what is the impact of this fact on&#13;
translation? And what is the purpose of the re-translation of the text,&#13;
especially since the second translation is supposed to be different&#13;
from the first one, and to express itself aloud so as not to be a&#13;
repetition.&#13;
The translation of culturally chaged texts evokes discussions,&#13;
especially since translation builds bridges to the dialogue between&#13;
civilizations, and opens the wide onto acculturation: it is the&#13;
guarantee of the diversity that globalization attempts to eliminate by&#13;
replacing it with a unique culture as a form of cultural invasion that&#13;
masks identities and eliminates differences.&#13;
In this sense, translation becomes a very dangerous process that&#13;
can lead to conflict. This explains the appeal of some specialists to&#13;
ethics of translation, raising issues such as: quality standards, fidelity,&#13;
betrayal, and so on.&#13;
The use of cultural heritage in Dib’s trilogy was made for an&#13;
explicit purpose, being a text written during the colonial era. It is   therefore a pillar of the text, used by the writer to avenge on the&#13;
enemy, in his fight to claim identity.&#13;
As a result, both translators translated the text while they tried to&#13;
keep this heritage illustrated by names, places, food, clothing, etc.&#13;
However, there were big differences between their translations.&#13;
In sum, the comparative analytical study I have followed in this&#13;
research has shown that the imprint of each translator's cultural&#13;
heritage had been left on his translation.
