Epidemiologie des mammites subcliniques des vaches laitieres dans la wilaya de Constantine.
Hamlaoui, Mohamed Walid; Kayoueche, Fatima - Zohra
The subclinical mastitis represents the dominant pathology of the breeding dairy cows in the majority of world countries. The controls of such problems pass by the knowledge of the risk factors responsible of the apparition and the persistence of this pathology in the farm, like this the knowledge of the dominant epidemiological models.
In our study, we have tested, to determine, by means of the questionnaire destined to the breeders of dairy cows, the control of the risk factors of intramammary infections per the breeders, like this appreciate the prevalence of subclinical mastitis in this breeding by means of the California Mastitis Test (CMT).
Our results showed that the quasi totality of farmers did not respect nor the rule, nor the hygiene of milking. The results of the CMT showed that 75% of prevalence of subclinical mastitis in dairy herds, and 40% of subclinical mastitis of dairy cows. Concerning the affected quarters, the CMT results showed that 80% of quarters are healthy, 18% are infected and 2% are not functional.

La paratuberculose bovine dans les abattoirs de la region de Constantine
Benhamza L; Gherroucha ep Beziez Dounia
Bovine paratuberculosis is an infectious and contagious chronic disease due to the increase of the mycobacterium M paratuberculosis in the organism. This disease is widespread in all countries practicing intensive cattle raising and causes heavy economic losses.
The objective of this study is to search for paratuberculosis in cattle slaughterhouses. The author begins by presenting anatomical and histological reminders of the intestine and the satellite lymph; the major epidemiological elements of the causative pathogen, the symptoms and lesions of paratuberculosis plus the different methods of diagnosis and screening are described.
The practical part consists of visits to the slaughterhouse, to inspect the intestines, take samples from the mesenteric hypertrophied lymph, accompanied by a portion of the intestine, and send them to the laboratory for histopathological study.
Two stains were made, the HE and cold Ziehl stain; impressions of intestines and mesenteric lymph are also colored by the Ziehl-Neelsen hot method and examined microscopically.

Bilan des autopsies et causes de mortalité des ovins dans la ferme pilote Abassi Larbi

Bilan des autopsies et causes de mortalité des ovins dans la ferme pilote Abassi Larbi
Sid, Nassim; Benhamza, Louiza
In the present study, the aim was to establish the lesions assessment and determine the cause of death of 104 sheep. Necropsies were performed on 88 lambs and 16 ewes belong to the pilot farm Abassi Larbi in Bordj Bou Arreridj during a period of 18 months. The samples taken were examined by histopathology. Macroscopic lesions in lambs were classified as follows:
respiratory (21.35 %), digestive (16.01 %), cardiac (12.81 %), nerve (9.60 %), kidney (9.60 %), liver (9.25 %), lymph node (8.89 %), external (8.89 %) and musculoskeletal (3.55 %). The proportions of lesions in ewes were as follows: respiratory (15.06 %), cardiac (15.06 %), liver (13.69 %), ganglionic (13.69 %), external (12.32 %), digestive (6.84 %), musculoskeletal
(6.84 %), nerve (4.10 %) and genital (4.10 %). The mortality rate of the lambs was 13.05% and the causes of death were respectively respiratory disorders (26.13 %), digestive disorders ( 20.45 %) , starvation / hypothermia ( 19.31 %) , sepsis ( 18.18 %) , peritonitis ( 2.27 %) , congenital anomalies ( 2.27 %) and other causes ( 5.68 %). The mortality rate of ewes was
2.5 % and the causes of death were diseases of the respiratory system ( 37.5% ) , diseases of the nervous system ( 18.75 %) , reproductive diseases ( 12.5 %), digestive diseases ( 6.25 % ) and others pathologies ( 18.75 %).

Etude anatomo-pathologique des lésions du tractus génital de la brebis dans 4 abattoirs de L'Est Algérien.
Belalmi, Nour El Houda; Bouaziz, Omar
The aim of the current study was to investigate the pathologic conditions of the genital tract of ewes.
Reproductive tract of sheep (n = 501) were collected from 4 slaughterhouses in eastern Algeria (Ras el Oued ""Bordj Bou Arreridj"" Sétif, Constantine and El Khroub) over a period of 7 months. The gross examination of collected specimens was confirmed by histological examination. In total, 14.77% of tracts were pregnant and 25.14% exhibited abnormalities. The highest rates of abnormality were in the ovaries (19.9%), followed by the
uteri (5.4%). Predominant lesions in ovaries were paraovarian cysts (8.78%), cystic corpora lutea (5%) and ovarian adhesions (4.8%). Predominant uterine disorders were chronic endometritis (1%) and fetal maceration (0.8%). The most common lesions in the broad ligament and vagina were calcified and parasitic cysts (3.8%), especially those of Cysticercus tenuicollis. the abnormalities of the oviduct and the cervix were less common.
Genital tuberculosis were observed in the oviduct, uterus and the broad ligament (0.4%).The presence of hydatid cyst in the ovary and endometriosis cyst confirmed by histological examination, was exceptional in sheep. These results, suggest that lesions of the reproductive tract of ewes may represent a significant source of loss to the sheep industry in Algeria.
